Month: April 2013

Amy Tan, Amy Tan, Amy Tan

Amy Tan is visiting Australia at the moment. I was very excited to see her at Spotlight at Capalaba. I know this post is completely un-Stampin’ Up! related but it is my wonderful craft world related.

2013-04-28 Amy Tan 003

Earlier this year I “met” a group of ladies on a Facebook group for lovers of Project Life. (Now if you haven’t had any experience with Project Life you should check out some of my older posts on my Scrapping Knights blog here. Seriously if you want an easy way to store your photos and memorabilia AND write the stories that go with your photos in a pretty but non-scrapbooking kind of way you should check out Project Life.) I had been involved in the American Project Life group for quite some time and eventually it dawned on me there might be an Australian group. I have found so much inspiration from this online community and such a sense of belonging. I was so grateful to be able to meet some of the them today at Spotlight.

Amy Tan is just the sweetest lady. Her baby bump was so lovely. (I know it’s crazy that someone with 5 kids can get gaa gaa over a baby bump. You think I’d be over that by now.) We all wanted to have our photos taken with her and our little things signed and she was so kind about it and so accommodating. I know at the moment it is her job but still she doesn’t have to. I’m glad I’m not famous because I couldn’t take it. It was bad enough on my wedding day, I’m glad I don’t have to be in the spotlight  again.

I had a wonderful time and I will post my tags and the card I made on my blog later today when there is good light to photograph them.

Online ordering & My Digital Studio free trial

You can now order from my online store. This makes ordering super easy because you don’t have to email or call me with your order, you can order any time you like from the comfort of your home and your wonderful Stampin’ Up! products will be delivered straight to your door. Perfect.

For all you digital scrapbookers, card makers or invitation makers check out MDS (My Digital Studio) in my online store. The trial version is free to download. It is wonderful. I would love for you to share some of your creations in MDS with me. I’m very new to it but am finding it very easy to use. You should check it out.

These fantastic new cases will be coming soon!!! I love wood mounted stamps and this makes storing them so much easier. I’m in love.

New Wood mount cases

Starting 1 July all wood-mount sets will come in this new packaging and empty cases will be available with the launch of the new catalogue. That means you can transfer all your old sets to these new boxes! There will even be a template for you to create your own label for your old stamp sets (available 1 July). A pack of four half-size cases (9.5 x 14 cm) will sell for $8.95 AUD and a pack of four full-size cases (19.1 x 14 cm) will be $11.95 AUD. I’m so excited.

My next post will be about my stamp club so stay tuned.

ESAD Blog hop

Welcome. I’m the last post on this wonderful bloghop. You have come from Angie’s blog. Please click on the links at the bottom of the blog if you haven’t visited all the blogs on the blog hop. You will see the fabulous ladies who are part of this wonderful group. What group you ask?

Since joining Stampin’ Up! I have become a member of a facebook group, ESAD, for Stampin’ Up! demonstrators. This group supports each other and gives advice and encouragement to its’ members. I have learnt a lot from these ladies and have felt very welcomed by them. This month we are doing a bloghop to showcase the items in the new mini catalogue. Once you’ve viewed my page, please hop on over to all the other wonderful work of our group and if you are a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator in Australia or New Zealand please join our group.

We each chose a different catalogue item to showcase. I chose Make a Wish which can be purchased through my store or a phone or email order. I bought this stamp set because it was Hannah’s birthday in March and I wanted to make her invitations. I thought this set was perfect for that.
Here are a few items I created with this wonderful set.

I really enjoyed using the date section of this stamp set to date the layout. I think it’s a neat little touch.

ESAD stands for “Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators” and it is an on-line group just for Australian and New Zealand Stampin’ Up! demonstrators.

We so love what we do and not only do we love to share it with our customers, friends, and wonderful blog visitors, but we share our love for what we do with each other as demonstrators. We run swaps, challenges, tutorials, product know-how, and cyberstamps, and we are always there to help and support each other when it is needed.

So if you are a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator located in Australia or New Zealand, then please feel free to click here to join our wonderful group here.
