Scrap the Boys challenge

Do you ever do a challenge and not upload it? Me too. That’s me almost every time. Not this time though.

At Scrap The Boys they issue a monthly challenge. The challenge was to incorporate flowers into a boy layout. This month I knew exactly what I wanted to do. The flowers are stamped using the set Oh, Hello!

As you can see it is just a subtle 3 flowers in the background but it is so sweet.

Behind the strip of “washi tape” at the top of the photo is tucked the journaling. It reads;

There is nothing sweeter than a sleeping baby. I could hold you and stroke your beautiful face for hours on end. There is something about it that just makes your heart melt and feel so full. You are just the most adorable boy. Your soft skin, your baby smell, the way your smile in your sleep, all of it. It makes my heart swell. I would have thought after 5 babies the novelty would wear off but it hasn’t. I still love it as much this time as I did the previous 4 times. I am a very lucky Mummy to have such a sweet boy as you.

I am a massive fan of date roller stamps. I have repeatedly stamped the date on this page with the “splatters” from Gorgeous Grunge. This date roller stamp is Remember This and That and I use it all the time.

I am really getting back into sewing on my layouts. I guess it helps if the sewing machine is out and not packed away. I just have to make sure I set it up permanently in my room somewhere. I just have to find a good spot.

Card in a box

These cards have been all over the internet. I resisted the urge to make one but thought the ladies in my technique class would like to have a go. I ended up making a sample for class when Hannah (5 years) saw it and said I had to make one for her to give to her teacher for her birthday.

I made mine a little more simple than most you will see on the internet. I prefer it that way. I didn’t embellish the sides (apart from some embossing using the petals-a-plenty embossing folder. I also used the Stampin’ Write Markers to add the different colours to this stamp set from Delightful Dozen.

Isn’t her handwriting amazing. She wrote this the day before she turned 5. Mrs Paxton’s birthday is the day before hers. Pretty proud of her efforts there. I didn’t even need to tell her how to spell any of the words.

If you would like more information about my classes, how to make this card or the supplies used please don’t hesitate to contact me.

I will post the the second card from my class in a few days so make sure you check back or subscribe to my blog so you can get notifications when I update.

Until next time, happy crafting.

Baby boy card

I’ve had a few people commission cards recently. This was for the birth of a baby boy. Do you like the duck?

I used my Stampin’ Write Markers to colour this stamp in two colours. Don’t you just love how the duck, ribbon and banner all co-ordinate? That’s Daffodil Delight. One of my favourite colours.

The embossing folder was introduced during this year’s sale-a-bration. I just love it. Probably one of my new favourite embossing folders.

If you would like me to make a card for you please don’t hesitate to contact me or if you would like any information about the products I’ve used and purchasing them I’m here to help too.

If you would like to come along to one of my classes let me know. Spaces normally fill fast so don’t leave it until the last minute to book your spot.

Until next time, happy crafting.

Christmas scrapbooking layout

How far behind are you with your scrapbooking? Me, well just a little maybe. I did in fact finish this one months ago but haven’t made time to upload it yet.

I’ve added just a sprinkle of Gorgeous Grunge in the background as well as some of the Pearls in various sizes. I like the fun texture they add and the way they draw your eye around the layout.

I enjoyed doodling in the circle. I like the personal touch it gives. It’s also one of the reasons I like to hand write my journaling. Although I don’t like my handwriting I know my kids or my grandkids will one day delight in the fact they have something hand written by me.

This one is well overdue to be posted so thanks for taking the time to have a look.

Until next time, happy crafting.

Fine Feathers card

We were invited to a rainbow birthday party so I had to come up with a bit of a different card. Here is my beautiful rainbow card. It’s a very simple card. Only one layer, 2 stamp sets, and a few Stampin’ Write Markers.

Fine Feathers card (4)

Last month one of the ladies who attended my retreat created a card from the Fine Feathers set to give to me to say thank you for running a wonderful retreat (I was so touched. It was such a lovely thing to do. Why don’t more people do things like that?) She inspired me to purchase the set for myself. I have always wanted the Fine Feathers set but was unsure how much use I would get out of it. Well I can see a similar card coming up for my Stamp-a-stack on the 25th of April. Isn’t it just such a beautiful card?
