OCC & SAB 2016 Blog Hop Header

It is with great pleasure I welcome you to my blog from Pauline’s blog. I’m sure you’ve been as inspired as I have been so far.

I have fallen in love with so much of this catalogue and the sale-a-bration  items. You can get free scrapbooking papers with a qualifying order!!! How good is that? Of course I had to create some scrapbooking pages with the supplies I ordered.

My first layout uses the sale-a-bration freebie Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper. I used a sketch I found in my stash as inspiration to complete this layout.

I was really unsure of the journaling because it is so large but I love strip journaling and I love the typewriter. I can’t seem to just write a little bit. I decided the best idea was to just do it and stop over analysing everything. No one will care in 5 years time that it looks a bit funny and it’s not neat, they will just appreciate the fact that I wrote the story down.

The beautiful detail in the middle using the Rose Garden Thinlits Dies was actually created by accident. I was creating a card for my technique class and these were off-cuts from a card I made. They just happened to fall on the layout and I thought they looked pretty amazing so I stuck them down. Wasn’t where I thought the layout was going but it is a good use of left-overs don’t you think?

The second layout, 1st Birthday, I created for my weekly kids’ class. As you can imagine none of their pages turned out like mine but they all followed a similar theme and the design principles I used.

I love that I can create my own personalised background papers using stamps. The kids loved it too. They thought it was fabulous they could stamp their birth month on their page and really make the page about them.

The journaling for this page is going in the blank yellow spot. It is a really mushy piece about the last of my 5 babies turning one and how sad that is as there will be no more babies any more but how exciting it is for us to be entering a new phase of our lives.

Don’t you just love these balloons created with the Balloon Builders stampset? I hand cut the heart shaped balloons but the balloons out of the patterned paper are punched using the Balloon Bouquet Punch which also has a co-ordinating stampset. I can’t tell you how much I love these 3 items. I love balloons for all kinds of things. Balloons always seem so happy to me.

Card in a box class

These cards were created last year, for a class I ran last year. Laziness has prevented me from posting these pictures but here they finally are. This wasn’t quite a stamp-a-stack class. Participants made 10 cards, two of each card (although the 5th card is missing because I’ve already sent it).

This is such a simple card. I love, love, love stampsets with matching punches or dies. Petitie petal stamp and punch and the wonderous wreath stampset and dies made this card so easy to create.

I think this is one of my favourite cards in a long time. It is so simple and so stunning. Again the matching stampset and punch make this card so effective. Three flower stamp sets and three matching punches, flower shop,

Just an interesting way to use the Wetlands stampset.

Embellished events is the perfect stamp set for any occasion. It has a sentiment and image for every occasion.

Scrap the Boys challenge

Do you ever do a challenge and not upload it? Me too. That’s me almost every time. Not this time though.

At Scrap The Boys they issue a monthly challenge. The challenge was to incorporate flowers into a boy layout. This month I knew exactly what I wanted to do. The flowers are stamped using the set Oh, Hello!

As you can see it is just a subtle 3 flowers in the background but it is so sweet.

Behind the strip of “washi tape” at the top of the photo is tucked the journaling. It reads;

There is nothing sweeter than a sleeping baby. I could hold you and stroke your beautiful face for hours on end. There is something about it that just makes your heart melt and feel so full. You are just the most adorable boy. Your soft skin, your baby smell, the way your smile in your sleep, all of it. It makes my heart swell. I would have thought after 5 babies the novelty would wear off but it hasn’t. I still love it as much this time as I did the previous 4 times. I am a very lucky Mummy to have such a sweet boy as you.

I am a massive fan of date roller stamps. I have repeatedly stamped the date on this page with the “splatters” from Gorgeous Grunge. This date roller stamp is Remember This and That and I use it all the time.

I am really getting back into sewing on my layouts. I guess it helps if the sewing machine is out and not packed away. I just have to make sure I set it up permanently in my room somewhere. I just have to find a good spot.

Rock a bye is an MDS download which I converted into a cut file in Silhouette Studio and has been cut using my digital cutting machine.

If you’d like to know more about my scrapbooking classes or about using MDS or any of the products shown here please don’t hesitate to contact me. I’m always more than happy to help.

Until next time, happy crafting.

Baby boy card

I’ve had a few people commission cards recently. This was for the birth of a baby boy. Do you like the duck?

2014-03-24 baby boy card 001

I used my Stampin’ Write Markers to colour this stamp in two colours. Don’t you just love how the duck, ribbon and banner all co-ordinate? That’s Daffodil Delight. One of my favourite colours.

The embossing folder was introduced during this year’s sale-a-bration. I just love it. Probably one of my new favourite embossing folders.

If you would like me to make a card for you please don’t hesitate to contact me or if you would like any information about the products I’ve used and purchasing them I’m here to help too.

If you would like to come along to one of my classes let me know. Spaces normally fill fast so don’t leave it until the last minute to book your spot.

Until next time, happy crafting.

Stampin’ Around Wheels

What is one of the most overlooked Stampin’ Up! products? In my opinion it’s the Stampin’ Around Wheels. I just wanted to show you how beautiful they are.

2014-01-26 wheel stamp 001

This is a cute little card I made with the Baby Tee wheel when my friends had a little girl. It was so easy. I just used my ink pad to ink up the wheel and I rolled it three times over the whisper white card base. I then rolled it once over a piece of pink pirouette cardstock and cut out the three pink jumpsuits. I added a bit of colour with my stampin’ write markers just to add a bit of detail. Girl was then stamped onto the lower left hand corner.

The cute little coat hanger is from the Hung Up Cute clips and I think it just adds a fun detail.

Why not have a go and use a wheel on your next card. It’s so very effective. Don’t you agree?
