Monday Memories- Sale-a-bration scrapbooking layout

What is sale-a-bration? Sale-a-bration is Stampin’ Up!’s annual giveaway. For every $90 you spend you get to pick a free item from the sale-a-bration catalogue. There are stamps, specialty papers, Designer Series Papers and even blendabilities to earn for free this year! I’m just blown away.

Every year I think sale-a-bration is better than the year before. This year is no exception. Just wait until you see what you can earn for free.

You will love the simplicity of this page I’m sharing today. You will love that it was complete using sale-a-bration DSP and one of the stamp sets.

This DSP is called Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper #138633 and is available for free when you spend $90 as is the stamp set featured in this layout is call Best Day Ever and is available in 3 different stamp types. Wood #139091                Clear #139094 Photopolymer #139149

There is even a button and ribbon set for free which co-ordinates perfectly with this DSP set. I CASed this layout directly from the catalogue. To me it is prefect so I didn’t see any need to change it up too much.

I absolutely love the Best. Day. Ever. stamp set. I will be using it so much in my scrapbooking and in my project life. It’s awesome.

Technique Tuesday CASing

Today’s Technique is CASing. What is CASing? Copy And Share.

The card I’m sharing today I CASed straight from the sale-a-brations catalogue although I had to change it a little to suit my needs as I did not have  the ColorBox Chalk Ink Pads. These inks were not on my high priority list when I put in my pre-order. (Another great benefit of being a demonstrator is you get to see and use all the products before everyone else even if you’re only a hobby demonstrator so contact me if you’d like to find out more information on becoming a demonstrator.)

Star card technique class

Last week’s card class was a bit different. Not much stamping and lots of patterned paper.

I call this a star card. I know that’s not the name of it. Do you know the name?

2014-06-20 June card class 001

This is a very easy card to make. I know it looks a little complex but it isn’t. The kids in my kids’ class did this card. They are aged between 6 and 10. If they can do it so can you. Give it a go.

2014-05-14 June card class 005

I just love this DSP,  Birthday Basics . It’s retiring so if you would like to use it please order it before the 30th of June so you don’t miss out.

Please see below for instructions on how to make this card.

2014-06-20 June card class 005

This is exactly the same design using a different colour scheme and a different pack of DSP. This is Modern Medley.

2014-06-20 June card class 006

This is the same design except on a smaller scale.  This is using the polka dot parade DSP.  Each of these squares are only 3cm x 3cm.

Instructions:

Cut 2 pieces of cardstock at 10.5x 10.5cm

Cut 8 pieces of patterned paper 5x5cm. You could use all different patterns or just 2 like in the picture.

2014-06-20 June card class 003

Place the pieces of cardstock on top of each other so they form a star shape. Try to make it as even as possible.

Glue or staple the 2 pieces of cardstock together.

Using your patterned paper lay a piece in the corner of the top piece of cardstock. Only put adhesive on half the square along the diagonal which will be covered by the next piece of paper. If you put adhesive over the whole piece it will be difficult to slip the last piece of paper in once you have completed the spiral.

Keep adhering pieces of paper until you come all the way back to the start.

Embellish the middle of the star as little or as much as you’d like. It helps to cover the centre which can be a little messy.

For the smaller star card cut 2 pieces of cardstock 7cm x 7cm and cut 8 pieces of patterned paper 3cm x 3cm. Repeat the same process as the larger star card.

I hope you enjoyed this. If you’d like to attend one of my classes please let me know so I can book you in.

Happy crafting.
