Paris day 2

We had a huge day of walking, over 15km. We walked almost from 9.30am until 5.30pm. Admittedly this was at little Kevin pace until 3.30pm but he was a fabulous walker and didn’t complain at all.

Firstly we took the kids to Sacre Coeur. This was the first rime they had seen or been inside such a big church. Like me, they were quite impressed with  the paintings inside and the small chapels which formed part of the large church.

The kids even had a ride on the carousel.

Morning tea in a park so the kids could play. We had coffee and pastry.

We even had a maccas toilet break but this one was a pay for toilet but fortunately a French family were coming out of the cubicle and held it open for us so we didn’t have to pay.

We walked past Napoleon’s statue and all the expensive shops. There was a watch Kevin liked for over 21,000 Euros! I quite liked the statue of Napolean with its green tone. Imagine what it would have looked like when it was new and shiny.

We had an ice cream in Jardin de Tuileries and walked through to see the Paris eye and Cleopatra’s Obelisk but it is actually Rameses II’s. It blew me away they would transport this from Egypt. It’s quite an impressive stone structure and the hieroglyphs were beautiful.

The Eiffel Tower was the highlight of the day. Jessica and I wanted to be the first to spotto it. We walked along the Siene which was very full of water and flowing rapidly from the flooding here last week.

It was quite a nice walk although we heard the constant sounds of the police sirens because they were blocking off streets for some protest. Heavily armed police on every corner and car after car of police going past. Kevin Joshua was most impressed to see so many police. There were also a lot of police near an overseas dignitary we saw go past in his motorcade.

There was quite a few upset people when we arrived at the Eiffel Tower because we found out Elizabeth the platypus had fallen out of Hannah’s bag. We decided to back track to try to find her but without luck. Kevin W and Pauline took the kids back to the apartment via the train. Jessica came with us and was just so good, walking and never giving up even though it was about 5km back to the apartment.

We even managed to find a train shop in Paris and bought some supplies.

Aren’t these in colours fabulous?  I love the new green, emerald envy is my favourite.

Dapper denim is a colour I think I will use a lot.

How cute is the elephant stamp?

This new ribbon is beautiful too. It is very lovely.

A lovely pink, flirty flamingo.

Peekaboo peach will have some people excited but you know me, it’s not my cup of tea.

Sweet sugarplum is a nice purple additions to our colours.

I love these cards. Very simple. Same design just altering a few things each time.

I can’t wait to share more with you as the week goes on.

Although the new catalogue is very exciting make sure you’re checking the retirement list and purchasing the supplies you want because once they sell out they are gone forever. Get some of those punches now.

Gold Coast

I’m here on the Gold Coast  in beautiful Queensland for the Stampin’ Up! Onstage convention. I’m so pleased my darling husband booked a room for me and is holding fort at home with the 5 kids. He is a superstar. Thanks darling.

Training, of course, has been very educational as well as very inspiring and I can’t wait to get back and start implementing some of the words of wisdom. I just love learning from other demonstrators and hearing about how they run their businesses.

Here was our dinner table.

Dinner was fabulous, even the cheese platter during our brain storming training was to die for. Thanks Stampin’ Up! for looking after us and treating us so well.

Yummy chicken for my main.

That chocolate mousey goodness was amazing but the popcorn toffee was heaven.

I will post our gorgeous gift tomorrow as I don’t want to spoil it for other demos around the world who have yet to recieve theirs.

Such a blessing scrapbook page

This was such a quick and easy layout to create. The colour inspiration for the layout came from the blue thread. This was found while sweeping the house and comes from a piece of Lisa’s clothing. The thread was already in rings which again inspired the circular design.

I started the layout with a kids water colour set and painted some random sized circles all over the 12×12 piece of whisper white. I then added lots of water to the water colour pallet and used the brush to tap splatters of colour diagonally across the page.

In my scrap basket in front of my work space were these strips of scraps which were from a card class I ran years ago and I had pulled out to take to the retreat I ran at the beginning of April but hadn’t put away. The colours coordinated very well so I had to attach them with the Stampin’ Up! mini stapler. The scalloped edge was from one of the Stampin’ Up! accessory kits which are in the clearance rack.

Add a bit of stamping around the page.

I created these layers and quickly journalled my story and I now have another layout completed for Kevin’s scrapbook.

ESAD last chance Sale-a-bration blog hop

Welcome from Nicole Wilson’s blog. Be ready to be inspired again.

It comes to that time of year again where sale-a-bration is drawing to a close. We have had amazing products again this year and I will be sad to see them go but you still have one week to get your hands on some of these freebies.

Tonight I’m sharing 3 cards made using 3 different Sale-a-bration sets. Yes, that’s right I’m doing cards for a change.

I just love Flowering Fields. It is so versatile. I also love this design of card. It is one of my go to designs. It is simple but it always works.

What I love has been a best seller for me. Now I’m not a fan of Wisteria Wonder but doesn’t it just look gorgeous here? This card design I CASed from an old Stampin’ Up! catalogue so make sure you keep your old catalogues for card inspiration when you’re stuck for a class idea.

2016-03-24 058

The idea for this card came from Sara, now Stampin’ Up!s new CEO. She shared this idea a while back and I loved it. This is called Honeycomb Happiness. Get fussy cutting ladies and enjoy the DSP designs on your cards as well as the act of fussy cutting.  It is therapeutic if you are in the mood. I also made a very similar card using the ice cream in this set which was sent to a beautiful friend of mine.

Head on over to the amazing Kelly Kent to continue the hop. The list of all participants is below if you get lost and need to find your way through.

OCC & SAB 2016 Blog Hop Header

It is with great pleasure I welcome you to my blog from Pauline’s blog. I’m sure you’ve been as inspired as I have been so far.

I have fallen in love with so much of this catalogue and the sale-a-bration  items. You can get free scrapbooking papers with a qualifying order!!! How good is that? Of course I had to create some scrapbooking pages with the supplies I ordered.

My first layout uses the sale-a-bration freebie Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper. I used a sketch I found in my stash as inspiration to complete this layout.

I was really unsure of the journaling because it is so large but I love strip journaling and I love the typewriter. I can’t seem to just write a little bit. I decided the best idea was to just do it and stop over analysing everything. No one will care in 5 years time that it looks a bit funny and it’s not neat, they will just appreciate the fact that I wrote the story down.

The beautiful detail in the middle using the Rose Garden Thinlits Dies was actually created by accident. I was creating a card for my technique class and these were off-cuts from a card I made. They just happened to fall on the layout and I thought they looked pretty amazing so I stuck them down. Wasn’t where I thought the layout was going but it is a good use of left-overs don’t you think?

The second layout, 1st Birthday, I created for my weekly kids’ class. As you can imagine none of their pages turned out like mine but they all followed a similar theme and the design principles I used.

I love that I can create my own personalised background papers using stamps. The kids loved it too. They thought it was fabulous they could stamp their birth month on their page and really make the page about them.

The journaling for this page is going in the blank yellow spot. It is a really mushy piece about the last of my 5 babies turning one and how sad that is as there will be no more babies any more but how exciting it is for us to be entering a new phase of our lives.

Don’t you just love these balloons created with the Balloon Builders stampset? I hand cut the heart shaped balloons but the balloons out of the patterned paper are punched using the Balloon Bouquet Punch which also has a co-ordinating stampset. I can’t tell you how much I love these 3 items. I love balloons for all kinds of things. Balloons always seem so happy to me.

Card in a box class

These cards were created last year, for a class I ran last year. Laziness has prevented me from posting these pictures but here they finally are. This wasn’t quite a stamp-a-stack class. Participants made 10 cards, two of each card (although the 5th card is missing because I’ve already sent it).

2015-03-03 card box class 003

This is such a simple card. I love, love, love stampsets with matching punches or dies. Petitie petal stamp and punch and the wonderous wreath stampset and dies made this card so easy to create.

2015-03-03 card box class 007

I think this is one of my favourite cards in a long time. It is so simple and so stunning. Again the matching stampset and punch make this card so effective. Three flower stamp sets and three matching punches, flower shop,

Just an interesting way to use the Wetlands stampset.

Embellished events is the perfect stamp set for any occasion. It has a sentiment and image for every occasion.

ESAD bloghop- project life

Welcome to the ESAD blog hop. We have amazingly talented demonstrators in Australia and New Zealand. Make sure you leave some love as you hop around. Rachael sent you this way. Isn’t she amazing?

As most of you know I’m obsessed with Project Life. That’s why when they were available for free as a sale-a-bration item I just had to get them. Having 5 kids Project Life is the perfect way to easily document their stories. This is part of Hannah’s album. I found a packet of photos which was labelled HGK Feb 2014! Well sorry, poor neglected middle child but at least it is done now thanks to these freebies from sale-a-bration.

2015-02-15 project Life blog hop 001

This was a really simple layout. There was quite a bit of story to tell. There wasn’t much need for decoration or embellishment. What was needed was to show the photos and tell the story.

2015-02-15 project Life blog hop 003

For me, Project Life and scrapbooking is all about the stories that’s why I’ve included close ups of the stories. I LOVE reading other people’s stories. I love the insight into other’s worlds. Imagine the thrill my grandchildren or my great great nephew will get at seeing my hand writing in years to come.

2015-02-15 project Life blog hop 005

This was another really simple layout. Just a bit of stamping to add some detail and some letter stickers from the Love Story Project Life accessory kit.

Here I stamped with StazOn on the page protector. That’s a bit of fun. I was inspired by my mini album I made and am show casing on my blog tomorrow.

I’ve also added some stamping “good times” down the side of the journaling card just to add a bit of detail. The letter stickers are again from “Love Story” Project Life accessory kit and the stamping “love” is from the occasions catalogue.

I have mentioned before using Photosheet which is a free program to make photo collages. I frequently use this program when I print of phone photos or I have multiples of the same event but I can’t decide which picture to print. It is a really easy program to use. It is a drag and drop program and very useful for Project Life.

There aren’t any embellishments of this page except the banner on the top photo. This is what I love about Project Life- the cards are decorated enough that you don’t need to add embellishments if you don’t want to. Just the stories and you don’t even have to write as much as me. If you haven’t tried Project Life I implore you to give it a go. Use this mini kit which is a freebie with your $90 purchase during sale-a-bration. You can’t go wrong.

You’ll notice the last two pages have had close ups of me. This is because I would have loved to have more photos of my Mum. She was always the one taking photos and was so rarely in the photographs unless my older brother took them.  Make sure you take photos of yourself and include them in your album. Trust me, you’ll look back and think, ‘Wasn’t I young then,’ or ‘Gosh, I was so pretty then.’ Let yourself be part of the memories of your family.
