Project Life Christmas

Are you  preparing for Christmas? Have you created your layouts for last year? If you’re like me you’re running a bit behind schedule. Project Life offers the perfect solution. It is a quick and easy way to get your memories into an album.

My pages are all really simple because I have 5 children to create pages for as well as doing our family album. I also love to scrapbook traditionally and that is my main focus. I want to dedicate as much time as possible to traditional scrapbooking. If I can do Project Life with 5 kids you can give it a go too. Imagine the memories you’ll be able to leave your children.

This is a page about our Christmas traditions on the first Sunday of Advent.

Last year we had my daughter’s kindy graduation. As the journaling says, when did that begin to happen? I know it is the next phase of education but seriously.

Seasonal Snapshot Project Life kit by Stampin’ Up!

This video shows the Seasonal Snapshot Project Life kit. It is amazing. Have a look at the video. I’ll show you a few pages I’ve created soon.

I was really impressed with this kit. The catalogue doesn’t do it justice.

If you would like to know more about my Project Life get together let me know.

Until next time, happy crafting.

Christmas Project Life

Are you enjoying all the Christmas projects? You will have arrived from Paula and her fantastic project.

I’ve been doing Project Life for many, many years now. I love to document Christmas time because for us it is a time of tradition and a very special time in our family.

I used the Seasonal Snapshot Project Life card collection and the Seasonal Snapshot Project Life Accessory Pack to complete these pages. The only other items I added were the Festival of Trees bundle to add a bit of detail to my Christmas tree pages, the Handheld Stapler because I just love the look of the staples and they fit really well with the school pages I had to do.

These first pages I kept very simple showing you how easy Project Life can be.

I thought I would include a close up of my journaling just to show the different ways you can journal.

2014-09-27 project life christmas 021

Here I used StazOn to add the day to the photo. I love StazOn. It is a fantastic ink. Just make sure you clean your stamps properly after use and don’t use your Stampin’ Scrub to clean off the StazOn .

This stamp and matching punch is stuck with fast fuse to the outside of the pocket.

2014-09-27 project life christmas 024

I am thinking I should do a review of the Project Life Journaling Pens because over the years I have used a lot of different pens to journal with. These are fantastic and I love that you get 2 different sizes in the pack. They just write so well.

Here I have used the So Social stampset and a card from the kit which I didn’t want to use. I cut the card into banners after I stamped the words. Don’t be afraid to alter or cut up your cards.

2014-09-27 project life christmas 026

I added the staples from the Handheld Stapler to the banners and a dimensional under the banner end to give it some dimension and give the appearance of real banners.

2014-09-27 project life christmas 030

Here is the Festival of Tree bundle in use to add a little detail to a simple Project Life card. Don’t you just love a coordinating stampset and punch?

2014-09-27 project life christmas 037

2014-09-27 project life christmas 039

I kept these pages fairly simple because I have a lot of photos from Christmas and December last year and I have 6 Project Life albums to complete for that period. This year I plan on being prepared and doing a December Daily album using the new 6×8’ album and getting most of it completed before December begins that way with the rush of the crazy season I will be up to date.

Now head on over to Ria’s blog.

Project Life Stampin’ Up! style again

If you haven’t heard me bang on about Project Life yet you obviously haven’t been near me for the last 6 years. I have been a huge fan since Becky Higgins brought this system out.

I was ecstatic when Stampin’ Up! announced they were introducing Project Life as part of our line. As a busy mum of 5 Project Life has helped me keep up to date with memory keeping for our family.

You will have arrived here from Kelly’s blog, hopefully you will continue on the blog hop and be inspired to create something yourself.

Everyday Adventure Project Life kit

2014-07-25 Project life 002

This is a really simple version. This system is so awesome because you just print the photos and slip them in, add a bit of journaling and slip in some filler cards to make it all pretty. All I’ve added is the stamps from the Project Life Day to Day stamp set for the “April and the black arrow comes from the set Project Life Point & Click. Both of these sets are photopolymer and stamp just beautifully.

Just a few bits of stamping from your stamp stash and you make a beautiful layout.

2014-07-25 Project life 004

This one is totally plain. Nothing but the photos and the Project Life kit.

2014-07-25 Project life 011

With this one I stepped it up a bit. I used the Everyday Adventure kit and the Everyday Adventure accessories kit. Just a little layering and some stamping add a whole other level to this layout.  I even stamped on the wood veneer. They are really cute.

I am leaving off the journaling until after I post this because it’s a bit mushy and I get a little embarrassed which is a little stupid because I like to read others’ mushy journaling.

Now you’ll be wanting to head to the next blog post. Next up is Christie. If you get lost I have a list of all the blogs at the bottom of the page for you to refer back to. Have fun being inspired by these wonderful ladies.

Christmas scrapbooking layout

How far behind are you with your scrapbooking? Me, well just a little maybe. I did in fact finish this one months ago but haven’t made time to upload it yet.

I’ve added just a sprinkle of Gorgeous Grunge in the background as well as some of the Pearls in various sizes. I like the fun texture they add and the way they draw your eye around the layout.

I enjoyed doodling in the circle. I like the personal touch it gives. It’s also one of the reasons I like to hand write my journaling. Although I don’t like my handwriting I know my kids or my grandkids will one day delight in the fact they have something hand written by me.

This one is well overdue to be posted so thanks for taking the time to have a look.

ESAD Blog hop- sale-a-bration

esad sale-a-bration blog hop

Welcome. You will have arrived here from Chloe’s blog. I’m sharing a scrapbooking page with you today. I have taken the Heartfelt Banner Kit (pictured above) and used it to create a scrapbooking page.

2014-01-24 002

I love the texture of the linen banner. The calypso coral stamped really well on the linen banner. I was very impressed. I used images from another Sale-a-bration freebie set call Petal Parade. This one comes with 5 stamps. It’s beautiful.

2014-01-23 scrapbooking page banners 009

I’m a sucker for an arrow. I love them for scrapbooking. This arrow images is another one from Petal Parade. You can barely see in this image the embossed linen on the banner. I used the freebie embossing folder from Sale-a-bration for this too. I love embossing folders.

2014-01-24 013

The banner kit is so great. It even comes with the twine to hang your banner and a needle! I like the detail of the swirled twine. Just add a little bit of glue to your fingers and then make the twine into a loop and will stay adhered. Tombow is amazing glue. It is so strong. It’s my glue of choice.

2014-01-23 scrapbooking page banners 012

The banner kit even comes with these cute little clothes pegs. How adorable are they?

What is Sale-a-bration? Sale-a-bration runs from the 28th January to 31st March 2014 and it is a great way to earn free products. Every $90 you spend you receive a free item from the sale-a-bration catalogue. There are so many items; embossing folders, punches, stamps, card kits, the Heartfelt Banner Kit I used in this project, digital files from My Digital Studio (MDS).

It is also  a wonderful time to host a party because qualifying hosts get an extra $50 to spend. It is fabulous. If you would like any information on hosting a workshop/party please contact me and we can arrange a date.

Scrap our stash challenge

I’m an avid reader of this blog but I’ve not participated before. Do you do that? Read a blog, emotionally or physically get involved but don’t comment, post your response or get involved?  I do it all the time and I’m going to try to actually post on my blog that I have participated. Let’s see how it goes. Knowing me it won’t last long. I’m great at doing the task but not great at uploading to my blog.

Here is my take on the sketch challenge.

2013-10-31 Funny faces with Aunty G 001

My sister is such a great aunt. She is always willing to babysit and is always so much fun. Last week she looked after the 5 kids while we were at a wedding. That’s pretty impressive. Most people don’t want to do that at all let alone for the bed time routine. She’s amazing.

2013-10-31 Funny faces with Aunty G 005

See here is another layout using Gorgeous Grunge. I just think it is such a versatile set. Yes, I know I’ve said it before but it is just amazing. The paper is Soho Subway and I’ve just cut it into strips of varying widths then either doodled inside the edge or outside the edge.

I’m quite happy with this page. It helps that Hannah is just so cute. How can you resist that smile?

Have a wonderful day everyone. I know I will because I have my kids craft class this afternoon and I thoroughly enjoy it. I should post some of their examples because kids are amazing in what they can do.

Kids classes

I have been thoroughly enjoying teaching my kids craft classes and due to their popularity and the frequent requests I am starting weekly kids classes next term.

Last month we focused on Father’s Day and the children got to make one of two cards for their Dads. One group also got to make decorated gift boxes for their Dads.
I’m not sure who had more fun, me or the kids.
This card was quite easy to make. It uses the mosaic madness stamp set and matching punch and lovely mosaic embossing folder.

20130919-213522.jpg

Here is the decorated gift box. Easy and filled with chocolates for Dad.

Stampin’ Up! scrapbooking pages

Have you ever been stuck for inspiration for a scrapbooking page? I’ve been in a little bit of a scrapbooking rut of late.

2013-06-15 scrapboking page 006

This is a really simple layout with only strips of Designer Paper Series paper and a few embellishments but I really like the effect.

I’m including a few detailed shots of the layout too. I love the Hearts a flutter stamp set and framelits and I use them all the time. You can see a post here where I show you how to use the framelits. They are even easier to use now with the magnetic platform. 2013-06-15 scrapboking page 002
You can purchase Hearts a flutter stamp set here and the framelits here.

These photos are of my daughter from a few years ago. I have always loved them because I think they capture her personality perfectly. My journaling tries to convey that message.

2013-06-15 scrapboking page 004

I am not a person who likes their handwriting, with good reason too however I would love to have more of my grandmother’s handwriting and that’s what drives me to include more of my handwriting in my pages. I was given copies of some of my grandmother’s love letters to my grandfather and it was just wonderful reading her words in her handwriting. I hope my grandkids will enjoy reading my words.

Have you got copies of your relatives writing? Do you treasure it? I know I do.
